Scenario as method
In light of an exploratory and opportunity-driven project, I have not wanted to stop the exploration with Streamspot. The concept shows potential and a value foundation that can be carried forward into new concepts. I have explored these through a series of scenarios that constitute the project's second partial delivery.
I have chosen to use scenarios as a method to further generate ideas around Streamspot, as well as to assess the potential of possible initiators. The sketching process has been relatively free, and I have considered both less relevant and relevant actors to see how the concept can change form depending on the custodian.
This has resulted in some strange and funny, but also realistic scenarios—such as Oslo Bymusikk
Experience Oslo with music!
Oslo City Music consists of music stations placed around the city—in parks, intersections, and bus stops. The service aims to democratize streaming and fill the city with sound using local and national music.

In the app, residents can vote for their favorite artists or suggest locations for new music stations. Here, you can also easily get an overview of the nearest station, what's playing now, or previous playlists.
MVP & GERILJA TESTING OF OSLO BYMUSIKK
The scenario was tested with a physical installation and an Instagram account. This allowed me to observe the curiosity and engagement of residents and artists for the concept.
During the first days on Instagram, I posed as a new initiative from the Oslo municipality without mentioning my own name—which resulted in both disappointment and a potential collaboration.
Reflection on Oslo Bymusikk
The Oslo municipality has specific credibility when it comes to citizen involvement and democratization of services. Using the municipality's identity to convey the scenario therefore helped make the concept more holistic and accessible to the public.
Testing the scenario quickly revealed engagement and curiosity from residents as well as musicians. It showed me that more people are open to new music initiatives.
In meeting with the municipality, the conversation quickly centered on resources and restrictions. A realistic discussion with clear challenges, but one that provided an interesting perspective on the role music plays in the city and whether the municipality is a democratic mediator of music.
Despite possible challenges, I believe the concept has value that will benefit residents, the urban environment, and the industry by giving music a place in the city.
